Self-Motivators #7 of 7

Self-Motivator 7 of 7
#7 - Positive Action. Get going. Move fast. Develop a sense of urgency. A sense of urgency is the one thing that you can develop that will separate you from everyone else in your field. Develop a bias for action. When you get a good idea, do it now. Only 2% of people in our society have a bias for action. And if you're already in the top 10%, you can move yourself in the top 2% by resolving that whenever you have an idea or something, do it now. And the faster you move, the better you get. And the better you get, the more you like yourself. And the more you like yourself, the higher your self-esteem is. And the higher your self-esteem is, the greater your self-discipline. And the more you persist, then you ultimately become unstoppable

  • Bridgett SparksLOVE IT! If a person isn't positive then all they see is negativity. They miss the great things happening around them! BE POSITIVE and you will have POSTIVE Results be negative and you will have Negative results!
  • Robert MineoWe are always acting (and reacting) but likely do not give enough thought beforehand as to whether it is positive or negative action. Yet the cumulative impact of favoring positive or negative will make a HUGE difference on our outlook and on how we are seen by others and on how useful we are to others.
  • Emily WigginPositive reminders of goals. Visual, all over the house! Words AND pictures of goals. Also, positive self-affirmations. Not just read, but SAID outloud! Check in time with a leading mentor, who IS where you want to go. My top three, right there.
  • Francine Leechputting this goal on my blue cards !!! to read every morning....
  • Marlo ThomasBeing truly positive requires action. Also, we know if there is positive action, there is also negative action. We must decide which we will do.
  • Marita IonescuWe say thoughts create feelings, and feelings create emotions,
and from our emotions are born our actions, which create our destiny.
It works the other way too. By taking positive actions, we
generate good feelings, which in turn create more posit
    ive action,
and so on... A kind gesture, facing our truths, moving our body,
making those phone calls, cleaning our desk, these actions
can turn the whole mood, spark our energy, and create a new
emotional state of well being, even when it was not there before.
Action is the great restorer and builder of confidence.
Lack of action is not only the result, but also the cause, of fear.
Action sets you in movement, and when you are moving you are alive! Success -in any endeavour- likes movement and speed! Thank you Sir!
  • Sandra DutschekPositive Action takes you where you want to go, and guarantees you'll have no regrets!

Self-motivators #4 of 7

Self-motivators #4 of 7

#4 - Take Excellent Care of Your Health. Take excellent care of your physical health. That means good diet, good exercise. Everybody knows they should eat better foods, get regular exercise and especially lots of rest. That's very important. Get a good night's sleep. Be fully rested, and tonight get really rested. You don't have to watch the late night shows...

Marita Ionescu - Love it! Not taking care of our health when trying to accomplish anything, would be like trying to go to the moon on a horse and buggy. The vehicle is messed up. The better our body feels, the more energy we have, and the more energy we have, the more we are an attracting magnet, to all good things, people, love, business, everything!

Mark Christensen - I believe we can perform better than our competition.

Debbie Wagner - interesting I just posted on what drives you- however for people like me with health issues I would say know your limit this is very difficult for me and I pay later- thanks

Bertha Toulson - Take a half hour and go walk around your community! A lot of time is spent on the computer, the phone and webinars. Heart attacks are a result of a sedentary life..Just WALK!

Hang Around The Right People

This is point number 3 of 7 on becoming self-motivated.
This is a crucial topic because we all should be dusting off our dreams and learning how to make an impact while we are here on earth. Now if we are really dreaming, seriously dreaming, you know what I'm talking about...not the dreaming held back by our insecurities and fears but the real dreaming as if we couldn't fail. If we are really dreaming then we would realize that our dream is going to need some help most likely to get accomplished. It will most likely need to benefit others and it will also take others help along the way to attain. This will eventually put us in a category of people that I learned years ago was called "motivators". We will have to be able to motivate someone to help make things happen. It does us no good to watch Rocky all day and study clips of others giving rah rah speeches that get us all fired up. That is good but not good enough these days. These days we want someone leading from the front. We want someone that has walked that path and won who can show us how to do the same. We are ready for a change and just need someone real who is not perfect but that they are striving to lead by example. That person is you. That person is you getting out of the bed and becoming self-motivated first. Through all the tough times and good times. The tougher the better because we will know you know where we've been or happen to be at this time and fought through to victory. Let's cover some keys to being self-motivated.
#3 - Get Around the Right People. Who are the right people? The right people are the people in this voice room. Get around winners. Get around positive people. Get around people with goals and plans, people who are going somewhere with their lives and have high aspirations. Get around eagles. As Zig says, "You can't scratch with the turkeys if you want to fly with the eagles." And get away from negative people. Get away from toxic people that complain and whine and moan all the time. Life is too short.

Below are some brilliant commments about this subject that came from my Facebook page.

Chaplain Jeff Lucas Not my expertise, but I do know that addicts are often taught to change their people, places and things in order to stay clean.
Some of us may need to do the same to get the Downers and distractors out of our way.

  • Melissa Krivachek In the ever demanding social sector where techno savvy has become techno addicted it's important to recognize that not everyone, everything, and every idea/opportunity is right. Its critical to have the end in mind and pin point the exact psycho-graphics/demographics of your target. You don't go to war and detonate a bomb on the entire city you go with a goal in mind. Choose someone you look up to and want to be like and find out where they hang out, how they spend their money, then go there. Ex: my clients hang at 5 star restaurants, hotels, exotic dealerships, their on vacations, and mobile most of the time, 35 years + of age, etc....be very very specific and choosy then show up like you own the place even if you don't have money, don't have an education, or don't think your good enough. Dress in the best you have, indulge in a conversation without expectation, soak in the environment, take notes (in your head or on phone), and then GO TAKE ACTION!

  • Bertha Toulson I met two people yesterday in Burlington Coat Factory. Walking in my neighborhood, retirees walking People are living much longer than their retirements; And they all have computers and cel phones

  • Cynthia Russell Barber "Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go; Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul." Proverbs 22:24 & 25.

  • Marita Ionescu How Fun! Thank you Sir! Just like a rotten apple spoils the bunch, greatness rubs off on you... and since we are who we hang around, I choose to hang around the people who have what I want, so it rubs off on me!

  • Sandra Dutschek Getting around the right people is key to not only your happiness but your success in life in all ways. The right people will inspire you, encourge you, challenge you to be your best, catch you when you fall, forgive you when you fail, support you when you struggle, refuse to judge you, see the best in you, be your biggest champion and be truly grateful for you in their life. Getting around the right people will help you find out what you really want, and then help you get it. You'll know they are the right people if their values and character match yours. One of the best ways to get around the right people is to find out what they need and then fill it.

  • George R Toulson Sr I'm looking for people who encourage others. In Proverbs 27:17, it says, "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."

  • Bertha Toulson I must have misunderstood the question. I thought it was a,business prospecting question. I have a gazillion people I know and more who know me. They have varied professions.

  • Francine Leech I was in the habit of hanging around with people who took advantage of me and put me down anytime they could. This has changed since I found Ourgv where the leaders only want the Best for me and recognize my possibilities!!!

  • Marita Ionescu And that's why I hang around with You and Ms Rubidge!!!!!

  • Mark Christensen Having a great example is key for me.

  • Marlo Thomas I believe it means being around positive people. Positive people add when negative people subtract.

  • Ron Atkinson I think THAT is the best advice to give!!!

  • Youthof Nations Getting around the right people is great they are such a blessing to ones life. But what about those people that aren't the right ones to I guess hang out or talk about something ? How can you impact them if you don't social with them? How about modeling the example to them or teaching them. How Jesus did he always was modeling and living what he preach !!! Por sus frutos los conoceréis .

    Identify Limiting Step

    7 self-motivators number 2 of 7
This is the second post of seven talking about self-motivators.

#2 - Identify Your Limiting Step to Success. What's your limiting step? What's the one skill area that's holding you back? What's the skill? What's the quality? What's the action? Ask other people. Find out what you need to become good at. Sometimes it may be only one skill. If you became really, really good on the telephone, you could maybe double your prospecting effectiveness and double your sales. If you became very, very good at getting the order at the end from qualified prospects, you could double your sales. If you became way more humble and thus teachable so you were able to get along with leaders better and grow faster?  If you were able to grind our good focused long hours to get your numbers higher?  If you became very, very good at managing your time to really, really manage your time well, you may be able to double your presentations and double your income. If you were more encouraging perhaps people would gravitate to you and follow your lead better doubling your income. Find out what's holding you back. What is the critical limiting step that's determining your success today?

Whatever that one step is, or if you're like me and can list way more than one step don't beat yourself up.  Realize again that no one is perfect and that we are all works in progress.  Life will be filled with ups and downs.  Good times and not so good times.  Those who can recognize the beautiful ride for what it is can hang on and enjoy each time we are stretched as only making us stronger....as only helping you get one step closer to success.  Each tough time allows you to be able to relate and help another in this beautiful world of ours that is filled with people that need your love and care.

    Self-Motivated 1 of 7

The next few blog posts we are going to talk about self-motivators.

    Self motivators 1 of 7:

#1 - Get Serious. Make a decision to go all the way to the top. Up to now you've thought about it. Up to now, it's passed your mind. Many of you made the decision, and you've made up your mind to go all the way to the top, and your lives have taken off. It's the most extraordinary thing. Your life is one, like in the shadow going up in the dark side of the hill until the moment you decide that "I'm going to be the best at what I do. I'm going to be in the top 10 percent." And suddenly you rose into the sunshine, and your life is forever after different - wonderful. Get serious. Don't fool around anymore.  Time to wake up and get moving.  You've got this...it won't be easy but has life always been easy already?

    2 + 2 = 4

Often we focus on the end result or the total but we have to keep an eye on what actually makes up the total. These inputs in our lives are often in our control and if focused on can increase. For instance in business I've learned that skills + numbers = results.
I'm in control of the inputs on the left of the equation.
Skills can be increased by training, failing forward, repetition, focusing on the blessings in life, and so many other things. It all has to start with humility otherwise the lessons may come but we will think they are not for us.
Numbers are another input in our control. Someone who has skill to sell 50% of prospects but talks to 10 people will have 5 sales. Someone who has 5x less of a closing ratio at only 10% but talks to 100 will have twice as many sales (10) what if they talked to 1,000 they'd have 100 sales compared to only 5.
This is basic and simple but most of success is not that complicated. It's facing up to the truth and then getting to work.
Skills increase + numbers increase = results increase
